About Your Wedding Entertainment Director

Your wedding is all about you...not about me. But just in case you would like to know a little about the entertainer who may be part of your once-in-a-lifetime event, I will share with you a brief history.

Weddings of Distinction is a company of one... I am a solitary entertainer who began my professional entertainment career in 1988 as a Disc Jockey. I've entertained at hundreds of weddings over the years and I feel that weddings is where my talents can be of the most benefit.

Entertaining a crowd has been a part of me for almost as long as I can remember. I started in Speech, Drama & Theatre in the 7th grade and continued for 6 years through high school. I loved every aspect of theatre. But it was on my birthday while in my early twenties that I saw a Disc Jockey at a restaurant and dance club who caught my attention. He was wearing a long blonde wig, standing over his spinning turntable, plastic guitar in hand and was lip syncing to "Born To Be Wild". The crowd was going crazy, everyone was having fun, and the very next day I was focusing on career plans as a Disc Jockey.

I initially performed at all types of events, from school dances to night clubs. But weddings were what I enjoyed the most. Meeting new people and making new friends is always great, but what that really excites me about entertaining at weddings, is knowing that I play a special role in the success in what has to be one of the most important days in a couples life.

After performing at a hundred weddings or so I could see how they were becoming very typical and predictable.I began to visualize about how to make weddings better. I could see plenty of room for improvement in the overall experience for the Bride & Groom as well as for their guests. Although I was doing what I was hired to do as a Disc Jockey, which was to play music and keep the dance floor hoppin', I could see how they really needed more.

There were commonly little things that didn't flow well. These things were not particularly my job as their Disc Jockey, but yet I knew that with my experience I could have helped them to avoid the stress caused by those little overlooked details if only I had been more involved in their planning process.

Author Robert Fulghum puts weddings in the proper perspective in his quote..."A wedding is a high state ceremony involving amateurs under extreme pressure." I knew from doing hundreds of weddings what the Bride & Groom planning their first didn't know, and that was that if they really wanted their wedding reception to be truly great and truly entertaining, that they needed professional help. And from that concept I created Weddings of Distinction, an entertainment company whose sole purpose is to help Bride's & Groom's make their wedding reception visions a reality.

Instead of doing the typical, I wanted to find ways to help the bride and groom add their own unique twist to traditional events. I wanted to help them enjoy their special day by handling those reception details that might otherwise cause them stress. I wanted to help them create a "Wedding of Distinction". Please feel free to contact me...I will gladly show you how your reception can be the "Best Ever.
